Realizing the power of individual efforts in improving lives, a group of university students launched "Arabcom" initiative to make volunteering a lifestyle in Jordan.
The greatness of an idea lies in its results; that’s what a group of university students proved through their “Arabcom” volunteering initiative. Laith Al Majali, student at Mutah University in Al Karak, Jordan, launched the idea with a group of friends without expecting the amount of attention it would later receive from students.
The initiative, which includes 100 student volunteers, aims to serve the local community through different services, donations and aid. Since it launched in 2016 under the theme “Together to serve humanity,” the initiative has become central to the volunteering scene in Karak for its services, awareness workshops and courses that focus on developing mechanisms of philanthropic work.
“Arabcom” has so far distributed 500 meals in the Holy month of Ramadan and clothes to over 1,000 families in need, besides its tree plantations, public facilities maintenance and restoration, and hospital visits among other awareness campaigns that has spread the volunteering culture in the community.
The non-profit initiative keeps growing by day to include more volunteers with dreams to turn it into a comprehensive philanthropic entity that provides bigger benefits to the local society.
Make hope… Make a difference
